What happens?
On the third monday of every month, with a few exceptions please refer to our diary), the Southport & District Amateur Radio Club (SADARC) holds its monthly meeting and everyone is welcome to attend.
A short business meeting is followed by an activity which can be:
- Tea and a natter
- Operate the club HF/VHF radios (weather permitting)
- Visiting speakers
- Surplus sale (usually the December meeting)
- Tutorial sessions on a variety of topics
Recent speakers include a talk on the North Wales Semaphore, a presentation by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), an amusing visit from the local independent lifeboat station and a revealing talk by two of our resident Summits on the Air (SOTA) activators.
The monthly meetings are a great opportunity for those new to the hobby to gain some experience operating on the air under the supervision of our Advanced license holders.
Directions
Our monthly meetings are held at St. Marks Church Hall, Scarisbrick. Be careful, the path to the hall runs up between the church and the school, go too fast and you'll miss it. The map shows you the location.
Click here to get directions to the venue and a new window will open up. Click over the 'St Marks Church Hall' link on the left of the page and a large 'bubble' will appear pointing to the hall. In it is a link you can click over to get directions - follow the on-screen instructions from there.
