The Festival of Transport was held on Sunday, 3rd September, at Scarisbrick Hall (Kingswood College). Unfortunately, the event failed to pull in the large numbers that the event was used to welcoming, though this was in part due to the weather and the fact that the enourmously popular Southport Air Show took place on the same day.
The Southport & District Amateur Radio Club were in attandance and operated both HF and VHF stations using the callsigns GB5MGA and GB5MGB (in recognition of the fact that the event was organised by the West Lancashire MG Owners Club). The furthest contact recorded was in japan - a huge achievement.
