ON - Special event station ON1708M will be active from 11 July until the end of the year to commemorate the Battle of Oudenaarde, fought on 11 July 1708. A key battle in the the War of the Spanish Succession, it ended with the defeat of the French, under the leadership of the Duke of Vendome, by the English, Dutch and Austrians led by the Duke of Marlborough and Eugene of Savoy. W - Santa Cruz Island (NA-144) will be on the air for a short time on 19 July while setting up equipment for the IOTA event at the end of the month. During the IOTA Contest, N6VR/p will be the CW station and NT6AA/p will be on SSB. They will have tribanders, verticals, wire antennas and small amplifiers for both stations. Before the contest the individual operators will be on the air with their own callsigns. N6KZ/p will be on 30, 12 and 17 metres before and during the contest.
