During the first weekend of September, the West Lancashire MG Owner's Club hosts the West Lancs Festival of Transport. The event includes an exhibition of all things transport related and a classic vehicle run that takes in some of the great sights of West Lancashire.
The Southport & District Amateur Radio Club (SADARC) has established a special event station at the festival for the last three years, initially at Scarisbrick Hall and in 2007 at the Leisure Lakes, Mere Brow. Of all our special event stations, this tends to draw the most interest and several of our new Foundation License holders have made first contact with the club at this event. We treat this special event station as our annual 'birthday' party with plenty of good 'home' cooked food, excellent company, and radios a plenty. The big talking point of the 2007 special event station was Keith's (G0OXV's) virtual air traffic radar.
If you are a member of the club and wish to take part in this special event station please contact us for further details.
