This is a new special event station for the Southport & District Amateur Radio Club (SADARC). It will run from approximately 10:30 to 15:30 on Saturday, 28 June 2008.
The Park Praise Fun Day, to be opened by Rosie Cooper MP, is a large community event that will take place right in the middle of Ormskirk, at Coronation Park. The day has been organised by the churches in Ormskirk and there will be a programme of music, drama and other items at the Bandstand throughout the day. Local schools will be participating, as will the Town Crier, the Police and Fire Brigades together with the Red Cross.
There will be a number of attractions around the park appealing to all ages, including a bouncy castle, an inflatable assault course, ice-cream and refreshments, hands on craft activities, stalls and display stands from numerous local and national organisations (including SADARC and the North & West Wales Christian Motorcycle Association).
Money raised during the day will be donated to the North West Air Ambulance.
This is a great opportunity to present Amateur Radio to the populous of Ormskirk, being so close to the main shopping area and car parks on a busy Saturday, which is of course also Market Day.
If you are a member of the club and wish to take part in this special event station please contact us for further details.
