2009 VHF Field Day - G2OA
This weekend (4/5th July) will see a number of members of the Southport & District Amateur Radio Club take part in the RSGB's (Radio Society of Great Britain's) VHF National Field Day under the club's callsign - G2OA.
The contest will see the group operate on 2m and 70cm at various times during the event which starts at 14:00 UTC on Satruday (4th July) and conclude at 14:00 UTC on Sunday (5th July). Furthermore, the 6m band will be activated between 14:00 and 22:00 UTC on the Saturday and the 4m band between 08:00 and 14:00 UTC on the Sunday. Both USB and FM modes will be used, though only horizontally polarised antennas will be used.
The location of the station is on private property and, as a result, we cannot welcome visitors to the station. However, for your information, the station will be located in IO83MN.
If you hear us on the air we would welcome your contact.
This is the club's first contest for many years and it will be the first contest for some of our operators - so please be patient with us as we ease ourselves into this exciting 'mode' of operation.
