How it worksGetting sponsoredDownload a sponsorship form and leaflet now and start getting names and amounts on the sheet. You can either let them read the leaflet before they agree to sponsor you, or you can give each sponsor a copy of the leaflet to remind them that they have sponsored you - there is a space to write their name and th amount they sponsored you for. Many sponsors like to give you the money up-front. This is fine, simply mark up on the sponsorship form the amount paid and the method used (cash or cheque). Otherwise, collect the monies after the event. All cheques must be made payable to "Royal National Lifeboat Institution". The eventThe RNLI SOS Sponsored Radio Week starts at 00:00 UTC on the 19th January 2008 and concludes at 23:59 UTC on 25th January 2008. During the event you should make as many unique contacts as possible. A unique contact is classed as a unique callsign - so working the same callsign on different bands using different modes counts as one unique contact. Remember to fill in the contacts made on the special logsheets that you can download from this site. Collecting the sponsorship moneyOnce the event has finished, collect any outstanding monies, remembering to mark off on the sponsorship form the amount paid and method used. All cheques must be made payable to "Royal National Lifeboat Institution". Submitting your sponsorship money and log sheetsAll sponsorship money should be submitted to us in the form of a cheque made payable to 'RNLI' - please do not send us cash, we cannot handle it. Please bank the cash in your own account and send us a cheque to the value of the cash banked. If you require a special commemorative certificate of participation please enclose a postal order for £1 made payable to 'D Hughes'. Once you have collected your sponsorship money and completed your log sheets, please post them to:
Please try and submit all sponsorship forms and monies by the 28th February so that they can be processed and certificates sent out. Submissions made after this date will be accepted but may not qualify for a special award. Special AwardsWe are currently looking for a sponsor to help us provide special awards in the following categories:
CertificatesEveryone who takes part will be entitled to a special commemorative certificate. These certificates will cost £1 and will be endorsed with your name, the amount you raised and the number of contacts you made. The £1 is to cover the cost of the paper, ink and postage - any surplus raised from the income for certificates will be added to the total presented to the RNLI. |
